50x52: Thank you to Angels Among Us! + Cape Abilities, Meals on Wheels Atlanta, Science Club for Girls, Mass Gen, & Shakespeare Behind Bars

We’re excited to share our April 50x52 organizations and thank them for their ongoing dedication to fighting the good fight! From finding loving homes for furry friends to empowering STEM girls, all six of these organizations are proof that you really can make a difference! Learn more about our 50x52 project here.

    Angels Among Us

Mission: "Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity dedicated to saving dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in north Georgia. We operate through a network of volunteers and foster homes in the metro Atlanta area. Our efforts are funded by tax-deductible contributions from compassionate people and organizations who care and want to help make a difference… one pet at a time."
“My shih tzu Maizey was hours away from being put down due to ‘temperament.’ All she needed was patience and love to become the sweetest, most loyal dog! I get teary-eyed just thinking about how her life almost ended at a high-kill shelter, and I’m so grateful to organizations like Angels Among Us that rescue these animals and connect them with loving homes.” - Sam, Marketing Strategist
“No furry friends left behind! I don’t own dogs or cats, but I’ve always loved them and believe in their right to life. After all, we’re the ones who’ve brought them into our society. Animal rescue is a civic duty.” - Bill, Content Writer

    Cape Abilities

Mission: "The mission of Cape Abilities is to serve individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment supports that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community."
In addition to having a fantastic name, Cape Abilities is dedicated to serving those with disabilities with a range of services from residential services to employment services and beyond. We love how you can feel how deep and genuine their passion is for the incredible work they do for their community. Way to Be Human and Stay Curious!

    Meals on Wheels Atlanta

Mission: "Supporting senior independence through meals, shelter, education, and community."
Meals on Wheels has become a household name for senior advocacy and empowerment - and for good reason. In addition to their meal programs, MoW also serves our senior community with educational opportunities, shelter services, and much more. Thank you for being Rooted in Help!

    Science Club for Girls

Mission: "Founded in 1994, Science Club for Girls is a registered 501(c)3 organization that fosters excitement, confidence, and literacy in STEM for girls and young women from underrepresented communities with free, experiential community-based programs."

STEM is a field of massive opportunities, yet only 26% of the STEM workforce is female. Moreover, only 4% are Black and Hispanic women. Science Club for Girls is changing that with engaging programs that help young girls develop a love for STEM and connect them with the resources they need to be successful within this growing field. We can’t think of a better way to Stay Curious!

We can’t say enough great things about the frontline heroes who have put their own lives on the line to keep our communities safe during this pandemic. Everyone at Mass Gen exemplifies all of our core values, but most of all they show us what it means to be Rooted in Help: “Anything is possible when people are your focus. We work together to evolve and adapt to any obstacle we encounter.”

    Shakespeare Behind Bars

Mission: "Shakespeare Behind Bars offers theatrical encounters with personal and social issues to incarcerated, post-incarcerated, and at-risk communities, allowing them to develop life skills that will ensure their successful integration into society."

Just like us, Shakespeare Behind Bars believes that there is good in people and that the world is a better place when we share our goodness with others. Shakespeare Behind Bars seeks to transform inmate offenders from who they were when they committed their crimes, to who they are in the present moment, to who they wish to become. We hope you continue to Build Together for many years to come!
